Description

The building is a warehouse that houses the premises of John Wood and Julian Harvey and Co Ltd. It is likely from the 19th century and features two storeys with an old tiled gabled roof. The front is made of red brick and has a brick dentil eaves cornice and a projecting plinth. The facade is roughly nine bays wide.

From left to right, the first bay has small segmental-headed two-light windows, with the upper window containing small panes. The second bay features ledged doors both above and below. In the third bay, there is a modern casement window above and below to the right, with a doorway converted into a window. The fourth bay has a wooden boarded door in a frame. The fifth bay has a modern casement window above and a segmental-headed doorway leading into the window below. The seventh, eighth, and ninth bays contain modern casement windows, a ledged door, and a blocked small segmental-headed opening.

This warehouse was likely part of a factory that produced sailcloth, wagons, rich cloth, and hop bags. It is currently used as a showroom. The warehouse occupied by Wood and Harvey is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 and 2 Timber Close Path, Nos. 5 to 10 Factory Yard, and Nos. 98 and 98A West Street, as well as a warehouse located behind Nos. 98A West Street in Timber Close Path.
