Description
Nos. 91 and 92 on West Street are a symmetrical pair of houses built in the late 18th century. They are three storeys tall, constructed of brick on a projecting plinth, and topped with a hipped old tile roof. Each house features one window that is four panes wide, with rubber brick arches above. The doorways are located in the outer corners of each house. A contemporary central lead rainwater pipe runs between them.
No. 91 has a six-panel door with a fanlight that has radiating and curved leases, set in an arched panelled reveal. It is framed by a narrow reeded architrave and a doorcase supported by pilasters with fluted necking. The entablature is broken with dentils and features an open pediment. The cap mould of the pilasters extends around the reveal and across the doorhead. No. 92 has a four-panel 19th-century door in a panelled reveal, flanked by narrow panelled and reeded pilasters. Its entablature is broken forward over the pilasters and features a pediment.
Nos. 75 to 94, including Nos. 86A and 88A, form a group with these houses.
