Description
Nos. 4 and 6 Church Street is a pair of houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick and feature a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high with a basement, set on a plinth, and the roof is hipped to the right with chimneys located at the centre and to the right.
Each house has a regular facade that is offset to the right of each plot. The house on the left has two tripartite sash windows on each floor, which have gauged heads, and a central six-panelled door with a semi-circular fanlight. This door is framed by a moulded surround on pilasters and is accessed by two moulded steps. The door on the left side has four panels and is set in a gauged round-headed surround.
No. 4, located to the right, features three gauged and keyed sash windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor. It has a central panelled door with a rectangular fanlight and a cornice supported by enriched pilasters. The door on the left side has six panels and is accompanied by a rectangular fanlight with a keyed, gauged head. There is also a basement opening to the left.
