Description
Nos. 1, 3, and 5 Church Street is a house and shop row that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with cladding added in the 19th century. The building is timber framed and covered with painted brick and ornamental tile hanging, topped with a plain tiled roof. It has two storeys, an attic, and a basement set on a plinth, featuring a tile-hung first floor and a hipped roof with stacks on the right and at the end right, along with three gabled dormers. The first floor includes four tripartite sash windows, while the ground floor has multi-paned shop windows to the left, a recessed glazed door in the centre, and a mullioned and transomed shop window to the right, which has a door to the left with a rectangular fanlight. At the rear, there are hipped wings with glazing bar sashes.
