Description

This is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is timber-framed and has exposed close-studding with plaster infill, set upon a painted brick base. The roof is covered in plain tiles and features a hipped form with a gablet to the right, and a continuous ridge line connecting to No. 2 Church Street. A cluster of chimneys is located to the right. The first floor has three glazing bar sash windows; the centre right displays two blocked three-light mullioned windows supported by small arched braces. The ground floor has two large glazing bar sash windows. A door with five raised and fielded panels is positioned on the right-hand side. The original layout was likely a lobby-entry plan, perhaps formerly an open hall.
