Description
The Methodist Church and Church Hall, built in 1869, is a Wesleyan Chapel located on Wye Bridge Street. It features red brick construction with yellow, blue, and black decorative elements, topped with a slate roof. The church has a simple three-bay design with an attached hall to the west. The north entrance front displays painted pilaster strip buttresses and a raised parapet gable, which includes a roundel and a relieving arch above. On either side of the entrance, there are lancet windows with lozenge-tracery iron lights. The central entrance consists of double doors that are boarded, equipped with strap hinges, and have a cusped head with an arched surround. To the left of the entrance, there are three round-headed windows in arched surrounds, separated by pilaster strips. The church hall to the right features two lancet windows and a boarded door on the ground floor, as well as a rounded triangular gable opening. A foundation plaque on the right side of the ground floor of the main block is inscribed: "This stone was laid by Sir Thomas Lycett June 16th 1869."
