Description

The building at 4 Upper Bridge Street, Wye, is a mid-18th century house that has been altered in the late 19th century and is now used as a restaurant. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof. The building has a lobby entry plan and is two storeys high, set on a plinth with a plat band and a moulded wooden eaves cornice supported by modillion details. Chimneys are located centrally to the left and at the end to the right. The first floor has three tripartite sash windows. The ground floor incorporates sashes to the left and right, with a canted bay to the centre right. All ground and first floor windows are contained within ornate late 19th century Corinthian pilastered surrounds, featuring prominent cills, shouldered openings, and cornices. A half-glazed door is centrally positioned within a fine 18th century doorcase with a pediment and pilasters.
