Description
105 and 106 West Street are 18th-century buildings that were altered in the early 19th century. They are three stories tall and constructed of brick. There is a string course at the first and second floor levels, and a moulded wood cornice at the top. The buildings have an old tile roof that is hipped at No 106. Each building features two windows on the upper floors, which are four panes wide, with a central panel; the window at No 106 has a segmental head.
No 105 has a three-light window, with the glazing altered on the left side of the ground floor, and a wide five-centred arched doorway on the right. This doorway includes a four-panel door with sidelights and a radiating fanlight above. No 106 has a plain 19th-century shop front framed with pilasters and an entablature. At the right end of No 106, there is a narrow one-bay, two-story extension with a brick dentil eaves cornice and a small window on the first floor, while the shop front continues across the ground floor.
Nos 98 to 106, including Bos 98A and 104A, form a group.
