Description
12 West Street is a late 18th-century, three-storey building. It is constructed of brick and features a moulded bracketed cornice and a parapet with stone coping. The upper floors have four windows. On the ground floor, there is a three-centred arched yard entry on the left side, along with a well-preserved 19th-century shop front that has four arched lights divided by slender columns. There was formerly a half-glazed door on the right side with a plain arched fan-light. The shop front is framed by engaged composite columns and an enriched entablature, with the entry now located in the return wall of the shop. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 8 to 15, along with a lamp and lamp brackets to the west of No 15.
