Description
Nos 114 and 115 on West Street are a pair of 18th-century buildings that served as the office of E W Langham, Printer, and the Farnham Herald. These three-storey structures are built of red brick and feature a prominent wood-moulded and bracketed cornice, topped with a hipped old tile roof. The front facade is divided into two sections, with the left side slightly projecting and containing four windows on the upper floor.
On the ground floor, there is a segmental-arched window on the right with radiating and circular bead glazing, along with a late 18th-century six-panel door positioned to the right of the centre. This door has upper panels that are glazed and is set within an arched panelled reveal, complete with a fanlight displaying a circular and curved pattern. The doorcase is adorned with engaged fluted Doric columns, a broken entablature, and an open pediment. To the left, there is a Georgian-style shop front, added in 1952, featuring two bow windows that curve towards a central glazed door, with a rectangular fanlight that includes tracery.
These buildings are part of a group listing that includes Nos 108 to 122, as well as Nos 1 to 9 and the Town Hall buildings on The Borough, and Nos 1 and 77 Castle Street.
