Description
No 104 on West Street is an 18th-century building that stands two stories tall with an attic. It is constructed of red brick set on a chamfered plinth and features a parapet with lead-covered coping, which is panelled over the windows. The roof is covered with old tiles. The building has five windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor, with all windows and the panels of the parapet having stone cills. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped with a rectangular fanlight that has an arched, curved, and scroll pattern. This door is set in a panelled reveal and is surrounded by an architrave with panelled pilasters, scroll brackets, a curved frieze, a cornice, and a pediment, all demonstrating good proportion. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 98 to 106, which also encompasses Nos 98A and 104A.
