Description

This cottage, built in 1897 by Alfred Powell of the Art Workers' Guild, is located 10 feet north-north-east of Long Copse on Pitch Hill Road in Ewhurst. It features a rustic style with sandstone block and rubble walls, topped by a hipped thatched roof with 'sparring' at the ridges and ends. The building is single storey with attics, which include four two-light 'eyebrow' dormers situated just below the eaves. A square brick stack is positioned to the right of the center. The ground floor has two leaded casement windows and three doors, all set beneath wooden lintels, facing the yard. The rear elevation is single-storey and built into the hillside, facing the lane.
