Description
Gareth and the Old Cottage is a cottage that has been extended and divided. The left end, originally from the 17th century, was rebuilt in the 20th century using brick and timber frame. The building features red and brown brick galleted with ironstone, with brown brick extensions on the left side and timber framing with brick infill on the left-hand return front. It has a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the right. The cottage is one storey with an attic, sitting on a plinth with a plat band over the ground floor and a large corbelled stack on the ridge to the right of the center. There are five three-light gabled through-eaves dormers with fishscale tile hung gables and five cambered head casements on the ground floor. A half-glazed door is located to the center right, aligned with the chimney. The left-hand return front is jettied at the first floor. This building is included for its group value only.
