Description

This is a house dating from the early 16th century, situated in Shere. It is constructed with a timber frame and originally clad in smooth render, now whitewashed with roughcast sections, and has a plain tiled roof with swept-out eaves to the front. The building is set at a right angle to the street, forming an L-shaped plan. It is two storeys high, with the first floor jettied and originally rendered over, now underbuilt to the ground floor on the left. There is a single small casement window on the first floor in the centre, and one wood-framed, leaded casement to the first floor right. The right side of the ground floor has two leaded casements. A part-glazed door is located in the centre of the front elevation. A front stack is present at the left end, and a double stack is at the rear right.

The right-hand return front features one casement window on each floor, showcasing close stud framing within the gable.

The rear elevation includes a pentice roof extension and a three-light, wood-framed, leaded casement window with arched heads. A brick wing and stable door extend at a right angle to the street.
