Description
Rowe Farm Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 17th century, with extensions made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame that is clad in coursed sandstone, with ironstone galleting and brick dressings, while the right end is made of red and blue brick. The roof is plain tiled, hipped, with a gablet at the left end. The cottage has two storeys and includes an end stack on the left and a square, multiple stack to the left of centre, topped with a corbelled design.
The front elevation is decorative, showcasing a wide brick plat band above a tall ground floor, and a basement plinth on the left half. The windows are irregularly arranged, with five on the first floor, all except the left end window featuring decorative, arched head glazing tracery. On the ground floor, there are four windows, two of which are located on the left under cambered heads made of red and blue brick. To the right, there is a shallow 20th-century bow window with splay sides, topped with a semi-dome roof.
The cottage also includes casement doors, which serve as the old entrance to the left of centre, and a new half-glazed door located under a gabled porch to the right of centre. Additionally, there is a tile-hung extension to the left and a pentice extension at the rear, both framed.
