Description
Swallow Cottage is a house dating from the mid-16th century, which was restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame set on a sandstone plinth, with brick infilling and tile hanging on the first floor. The roof is half-hipped and covered with plain tiles. The building has two storeys and an offset end stack. There are three windows on the first floor and three leaded casements on the ground floor. A pentice roof extension has been added to the centre of the front, replacing a former door, and there are two additional windows in this area. At the rear, there is a lower 20th-century brick wing, which is tile hung on the first floor, with the entrance now located at the angle with the main house.
