Description

Cobble Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, with later 19th and 20th century extensions to the ends and rear. It is timber framed and faced with roughly coursed sandstone rubble incorporating snecked stones, ironstone galleting, and brick angle quoins. The roof is tiled. The house is built into a hillside, with a basement storey to the right-hand side. The plan is T-shaped, with stacks at the rear; one 17th-century base is located at the junction with a wing, supporting a rebuilt flue. The first floor has three leaded casement windows, and there are two through-eaves gabled dormers on the extension to the left. The ground floor has five windows, and the basement has one window to the right. A part-glazed door is centrally located, sheltered by a gabled hood on supports.
