Description

This building consists of a barn and stables located at the northwest corner of the farmyard, south of Stonelands. It dates from the 18th and 19th centuries and is constructed from sandstone rubble with brick dressings on the barn. The stables have brick walls with a timber frame above, which is now covered in plastic sheeting, all under plain tiled roofs that step down to the right. The barn, which is three bays wide, is situated to the east, while the stables are to the west. There are five brick-dressed windows on the farmyard front and three on the north side. The stable range features three doors and one stable-style door on the left, with stalls and interior boarding still intact. This building is part of a well-preserved group of barns and farm structures arranged in their original courtyard layout.
