Description
This group of barns and stables, located southeast of The Manor House, dates from the 17th century, with additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. The buildings feature timber frames on brick sills, are dark weatherboarded, and have steep old red tile roofs. There is a red brick wall to the north with flint panels. The layout forms a courtyard of farm buildings, with the entrance from the southwest corner.
On the east side, there is a tall barn that has a gabled porch in the middle bay and a single door in the same bay on the west, which has an inserted mullioned and transomed window above it, flanked by lean-to stables. A tall barn is also located on the north side, while a lower stable is situated on the roadside. The southeast stable, built in the 17th century, has three bays, jowled posts, curved braces, and a clasped purlin roof. The long stable to the south, built later in the 17th century, also features jowled posts and a clasped purlin roof.
