Description
The war memorial, located on the green opposite the Two Brewers Inn in Chipperfield, was built around 1919, with an added inscription from around 1945. It is constructed from white limestone with red brick panels and is raised on a brick and stone plinth that features moulded stone capping and two inscribed stone steps. The memorial consists of a tall square pillar with a moulded stone base and an oversailing cap, which is topped with a Latin cross on a tall two-stage moulded base. The brick shaft has a wide stone pilaster in the middle of each face, each with a moulded base and cap. The memorial stands approximately 5 meters high overall.
