Description

Compton's Farm House is a house dating from the 16th century to the rear right, with a 17th-century cross wing to the left, and refaced in the 19th century. The house is timber-framed, with exposed framing to the rear and on the return front, and red brick cladding to the front. It has a plain tiled roof, a rendered plinth, and offset end stacks. The front has gabled bays at each end, one to the right which is 19th century. Diamond-pane leaded casement windows are visible, with one window on the first floor of each gable; the one to the right is located under a cambered head. There are two three-light windows on the ground floor. A central eaves dormer is set under the gable. The central part has a glazed door within a gabled brick porch with a chamfered entrance arch.

To the rear, there are two framed bays to the left with first floor bracing. A half-hipped projecting wing is visible to the right.
