Description

Pollingfold Manor is a house dating from the 16th century, with extensions added in the 17th and 19th centuries. The main structure is timber-framed, with brown and red brick cladding on the lower parts, and exposed timber framing with whitewashed infill above. A brick cross wing extends to the left, with "club" tile hanging above, and the entire building is roofed with plain tiles, hipped with gablets over the wing. There is an overhanging gable on the right-hand side.

The house has two storeys. A corbelled stack is located to the right of the centre, and a square corbelled stack is on the left. The first floor has two three-light, diamond-pane wood-framed casement windows at each end, with a single-light window between. The ground floor has two windows. A partly-glazed door sits to the right of the centre. The projecting end of the left wing features a diamond-pane casement window on each floor. The right-hand return front is tile-hung above a brick base. It includes two gables above and a pentice porch on the ground floor. The left-hand return front, now the main entrance front, has a door at the base of the stack.
