Description
Fairfields is a cottage that dates back to the 17th century, located on Furzen Lane in Ellens Green. The building has been extended to the left and rear in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with only the main posts visible on the front, which is clad in whitewashed brick, while the upper section is tile-hung. The extensions are also brick and tile hung. The cottage has plain tiled roofs, with an oversailing gable positioned to the left of center. It stands two storeys high with end stacks that are offset to the right.
On the first floor of the original section, there are two small diamond-pane casement windows to the right, while the ground floor has one four-light window and one single light window below. The extension has one diamond-pane window on each floor. There is a gabled porch to the left of center in the original range, which features a studded door. The right-hand return front has the frame exposed.
