Description
Rapleys is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century extensions to the end and rear. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infilling and a plain tiled roof. The rear extension is brick and tile hung, while the left extension has an imitation frame. The cottage is two storeys high and was originally composed of two framed bays, with diagonal end braces visible on the first floor. There is an end stack to the right with tiled offsets. The building has two diamond-pane windows on both the first and ground floors, and a 6-light mullioned and transomed window to the left in the extension, situated under deep eaves supported by a braced post. The door is located on the right-hand return front, positioned in the angle with the stack and sheltered by a gabled porch on braces.
