Description

The Bakery and Post Office is a building that dates back to the 17th century, with 19th century extensions added to the rear and front left. It was originally a house but now serves as a shop at the front. The structure is timber framed, with a whitewashed brick lower section and tile hanging above, featuring some areas with alternating fish-scale and diamond-pane bands on the central gable. The roofs are plain tiled at the rear, while the front three gables are covered with Horsham slabs.

The building stands two storeys tall and has 19th century stacks to the left of the left gable and a taller stack at the rear right. There are three gables across the front, each with one leaded casement window on the first floor, and one ground floor window in the left and centre gables. The smaller right gable has a brick dentil band and features a ground floor three-light casement window. To the left, there is a single-storey hipped roof section with one four-light leaded window and a half-glazed door. At the rear right, there is a large 19th century gable. Inside, some main posts remain, although most are obscured.
