Description
Nos. 12 and 13 on Stane Street is a house that has been divided, dating from the late 17th century and refronted in the 18th century. It has a timber-framed core that has been covered in red and blue header brick, topped with a plain tiled roof and tile-hung gables. The building is two storeys high and features an end stack on the left, with a larger corbelled multiple 17th-century stack located to the right of center.
The exterior includes a plinth and a plat band above the ground floor, which has a central grey header course, along with a moulded brick eaves cornice. The windows are of 20th-century casement style, with three cambered-head windows on the first floor to the right and left of center, and two rectangular casements to the left. On the ground floor, there are three windows, two of which are located to the center/right under cambered relieving arches with blue headers. The doors consist of six panels, four of which are fielded, with the door for No. 12 positioned to the right under a flat hood supported by braces, and a similar door for No. 13 to the left. Additionally, there is a weather-boarded pentice extension at the left end.
