Description
Carpoles Cottages is a house, now divided, that dates from the late 16th or 17th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill, including one panel of whitewashed render below and tile hanging above to the left, with the lower courses cast out over the ground floor on braces. The first floor gable to the right (north) is brick infilled. The roofs are plain tiled. The building has a T-shaped plan with a cross wing to the right and includes a rear stack at the junction of the two ranges, as well as a detached offset stack at the right end.
The structure is two storeys high, with three leaded casements on the first floor to the left and one in the first floor gable. There are two windows on the ground floor to the left and one in the ground floor gable. A part-glazed door is located to the left of centre and another to the left in the gable. The former door case remains but is now brick infilled, leading to the lobby entry. There is a pentice to the left and across the rear.
