Description

Littlefield Manor is a house that dates from the 16th century at the rear, with a front range added in the late 17th century. The rear left is timber framed with red brick infill, while the front is made of blue-grey brick with red brick dressings, topped with plain tiled roofs. The building has two storeys with gable attics over a basement, featuring an offset end stack on the left that has a brick dog-tooth band at the top, along with additional stacks at the rear.

The exterior includes a basement plinth, plat bands over the ground and first floors, and brick on edge coping at the top. The symmetrical seven-bay front has projecting end wings that are two bays wide, with straight-sided gables over the wings and a shaped gable at the center with a segmental top. Each gable has a two-light headed casement window beneath a brick plat band. The first floor has seven "cross" windows under gauged brick heads, while the ground floor has six. A central studded and ribbed oak door is accessed by a flight of four steps, with fine volute scroll brackets supporting a flat hood over a blocked transom light.

At the rear, there are wings, one of which has a half-hipped roof. The first floor features a tile-hung gable bay with the frame exposed. The left-hand return front has an original four-light diamond mullion window on the ground floor, and an arched 17th-century door at the center with rose and thistle decorations in the spandrels of the surround, along with another door that has heraldic decoration.

Inside, there is original panelling in the ground floor room to the right and a large open fireplace in the left-hand room.
