Description

Springflower Cottages is a former hall house dating from the 16th century, with extensions added in the early 19th century and now divided into separate dwellings. The building has a timber frame with colour-washed render cladding and infill, covered by a plain tiled roof, with hipped sections and gablets at each end.

The central part of the house, the original hall, has gable end extensions added to both sides. It has two storeys, with an inserted brick stack to the right, another to the left, and further stacks on the sides of the extensions. The central section features three framed bays, with curved first-floor bracing on the right side. There are three casement windows on the first floor, one to the left of the centre, contained within a square bay that rises through two floors under a boarded gable. Three casement windows are positioned across the ground floor. A door is located to the right, sheltered by a pentice hood. A further door is set into the left-hand end wing, which is set back, and another door is present on the right-hand end. A single-storey extension adjoins the right-hand side.
