Description

The Homestead is a former hall house dating to the 16th century, restored in the 20th century. It is timber framed, with a rendered plinth and whitewashed brick cladding to the right-hand return front. The front has brick infill within the exposed timber frame. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, with a hip and a gablet to the right and a half-hip to the left. The house has two storeys and three framed bays. A rear stack is located centrally. The front elevation has a central through-eaves gabled, diamond-pane, leaded casement window, with one diamond-pane leaded casement window to either side. Three casement windows are located across the ground floor. A door is positioned centrally within a pyramidal roofed brick porch. A half-hipped wing extends at right angles to the rear.
