Description

Tanyard Farm House is a house dating back to the 17th century, significantly altered and extended in the 19th century. It is timber-framed with red brick cladding in the lower section and tile hanging above, with some sections displaying a diamond pattern. The roof is slate-covered, featuring a large moulded ridge stack to the left of centre and a front stack to the right. The gabled end bays project forward, with the right-hand bay being larger. The house has two storeys, with seven 19th-century diamond-pane casement windows across the first floor. Ground floor windows have cambered heads. A planked door is located to the right of centre, sheltered by a gabled porch with bracket support. A further boarded door is situated to the left of centre, within a brick porch decorated with curly bargeboards and diamond brick patterning on the piers. The left-hand return front reveals exposed timber framing. Inside, rooms at the rear left and centre retain visible timber framing.
