Description

This building, located at 1 Quarry Street, is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exterior features whitewashed stucco cladding and low-pitched hipped slate roofs. It is situated at the corner of Quarry Street and High Street, with the entrance facing east along Quarry Street.

The entrance front consists of three storeys above a cellar, characterized by deep eaves and stacks at the rear. On the second floor, there are two 9-pane glazing-bar sash windows with shutters, while the first floor has two 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows with shutters. The ground floor includes a shop front with a brick stall riser and panelled uprights supporting the window, along with a half-glazed door to the left.

On the right-hand return front, which faces High Street, there is one 9-pane glazing-bar sash window with shutters on the second floor. The first floor features a canted oriel window, which includes one 12-pane glazing-bar sash window on the front face and one 8-pane sash window on each of the side faces. The ground floor here is also brick, with a shop window below.
