Description

The Churchill Antique Gallery and Hairdressers is a house that has been divided and is now part gallery. It dates from the early 18th century, with 19th-century alterations and extensions. The building is constructed of red brick and features a 19th-century shop front at the bottom. It has a slate roof, partially hidden by a stone-coped parapet.

The structure is three storeys tall, with a lower three-storey extension on the right side and a stack at the rear. The front has three bays, with plat bands above the ground and first floors. There are three blind panels in the parapet, and on the second floor, there are three 9-pane glazing-bar sash windows that sit under gauged-brick and keystone heads. The first floor has three 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows, also under similar heads, with open boxes and gauged-brick aprons below.

The ground floor features a 19th-century dentilled shop front with panelled end pilasters and plate glass windows. There is a door to the right of centre in a recess, and another door at the right end. The extension to the right includes one glazing-bar sash window on both the second and first floors, with garage doors below.
