Description

Weller Eggar Estate Agents is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates back to the 16th century and was restored and extended in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame, which is clad in whitewashed roughcast, and has a plain tiled roof with a gable end facing the street. It is two storeys tall with attics in the gable end, and has 19th-century stacks on the right topped with terracotta pots.

The left-hand return front has a moulded eaves cornice. On the gable end elevation, there is a casement window in the attic storey and a large 19th-century sash window on the first floor. The ground floor shop front has banded and strapwork decorated posts, along with a plate glass window. To the left, there is a glazed door flanked by a scrolled and carved dragon post that supports the jetty on the first floor.

On the left-hand return front, which faces Mill Lane, there are four bays with a jettied first floor. A cellar is located to the left where the ground drops away. The first floor features two 16-pane glazing-bar sash windows on the left and a casement window in the centre. The ground floor has one 16-pane sash window and one 12-pane sash window on the left, along with a door leading to the cellar on the left.
