Description
10 Market Street and 1 Union Street is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick, with stucco and whitewash, and features a slate roof. It has a plinth, projecting quoins, moulded eaves, and channelled rustication. The structure stands three storeys high and has three bays. Most of the windows are glazing bar sashes with splayed keystoned lintels. The north front includes a central pilastered doorcase with shaped brackets supporting the hood, flanked by single ogee-headed bootscrapers. To the left is a 20th-century window, and to the right is a sash window. Above these, there are three sashes, and a central moulded blank panel is flanked by smaller sashes. The east gable features a 20th-century shop window and glazed door, with a sash window above.
