Description
Nos. 19 and 21, known as The Home Made Shop, is a cottage and farmhouse dating from the 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble and brick, and is colourwashed. The roofs are a mix of pantile and plain tiles, with some sections having a steep pitch. The building features a partial plinth, cogged and dentillated eaves, and a single coped gable with kneelers. There are two ridge stacks, and the structure consists of two storeys with five bays in a single range.
The windows are primarily 19th and early 20th century casements. On the east front, there is a single bay 20th century lean-to addition made of brick with an asbestos cement roof, alongside a 20th century lean-to timber porch. To the left, there is a close boarded door flanked by two casements, and to their right, a 19th century panelled door with a hood, also flanked by single casements. Above this, there are four casements plus an additional casement in the return angle. The south gable features a late 19th century shop front with a recessed door flanked by single casements, and above it, there are blocked casements. The west front has irregular 20th century fenestration.
