Description
Dean Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located in Upper Eashing, Shackleford. It features a timber frame with colourwashed and whitewashed brick underbuilding and brick infill above, topped with a hipped roof that has gablets. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of two framed bays, with a ridge stack positioned to the right of the centre. On the first floor, there are two diamond-pane, leaded casement windows, while the ground floor has four windows. A door is located on the right side of the front, sheltered by a porch with a pentice roof. At the rear, there is a hipped roof wing, and to the left end, there is a pentice roofed extension.
Inside, the cottage features a deep fireplace made of sandstone and brick, along with exposed wood framed ceilings and a queen-strut roof.
