Description
The Brew House is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and restoration and extension work carried out in the 20th century. It has a timber frame built on a brick plinth, with red brick infill to the rear. The upper parts are tile hung, with rendered infill on the front where the entrance is located. The roof is tiled and features an offset stack to the right. The house has a gable end facing the street and is two storeys high with an attic. It contains a 4-light mullioned attic window and two blocked windows to the right end. There are two first-floor mullioned leaded casement windows, one with six lights and the other with eight. There are also two mullioned ground-floor windows, one with diamond-paned leading in eight lights. A 20th-century extension to the left incorporates a recessed porch with a door and two first-floor casements above.
The rear of the house has a tile-hung first floor, with the tile hanging sweeping down to the base. It has a 6-light attic window and two small first-floor windows, as well as two ground-floor windows. A door is situated to the right of centre, beneath a hipped hood. There is a single-storey extension to the left and a 20th-century extension to the right.
