Description

The Stag Public House is a building dating from the 17th century, with a late 18th or early 19th century extension at the rear and late 19th century alterations. It features a timber frame that is exposed on the left-hand return front, with whitewashed render and brick infill. The extension at the rear showcases red and blue chequerwork. The ground floor front is clad in whitewashed brick, with tile hanging above and plain tiled roofs.

The structure has a central range with gabled end cross wings, with the right-hand wing projecting the farthest. It is two storeys tall and has a principal stack on the ridge to the right of centre, a smaller stack to the front left of centre, and an end stack to the left. The windows exhibit irregular fenestration, with leaded casement windows, three of which are on the first floor. The ground floor features a larger casement window to the left, a window in the centre, and both sash and casement windows to the right. There are doors located to the left end, right of centre, and on the right wing, along with double doors leading to a pentice roof garage extension on the left end. The left-hand return front displays decorative bracing in an ogee arch style.
