Description

Hitchin Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on Bridge Road in Ickford. It is timber-framed with some plastered and painted brick infill. The south gable has colourwashed brickwork, and the entire roof is thatched. The cottage is three bays wide and has one-and-a-half storeys. The east elevation features a centrally positioned door and two ground-floor, two-light casement windows, one in the right-hand bay. There are three two-light eaves dormers. To the right is a single-storey wing with a hipped roof covered in old tiles. The west elevation has irregularly placed casement windows. A south-gable stack is present, and another is situated between the right-hand bays.
