Description
Apple Acre is a 17th-century house located in Little Ickford. It features a timber frame with colourwashed brick infill and has a hipped old tile roof. The building consists of four bays and two storeys. There is a former doorway in front of the stack between the right-hand bays, which forms a lobby entry plan type. The ground floor has 2-light casements, while the first floor includes a 4-light casement in the bay to the left of the entry, along with two smaller first-floor windows. A stack is positioned between the right-hand bays. At the rear, the second bay from the north has 17th-century leaded windows.
Inside, the house displays chamfered and stopped spine beams, and the third bay from the north has chamfered joists. The fireplace facing north features a chamfered lintel shaped like a depressed four-centred arch. Additionally, there are curved braces supporting the wall plates, tie beams, and purlins.
