Description

This is a cottage, originally medieval, with alterations dating to the 17th century. The house is constructed using cruck framing, with timber framing and colourwashed plaster infilling. It has a half-hipped thatched roof. The building comprises three bays and one storey with an attic. It has a gable end facing the road, featuring a door and a two-light casement window. A thatched lean-to is situated to the right of the door. A further two-light casement window is also present on the gable. An off-centre door is located in the left bay of the long side elevation, with other bays containing two-light casement windows. A central two-light eaves dormer is visible. A stack is positioned between the right-hand bays. A medieval cruck truss is exposed in the gable, with the foot of further trusses visible on the side elevation, indicating a two-bay cruck house.
