Description
Nos 1 and 2 Dedswell Manor Farm Cottages is a house that has been extended and divided. It dates from the early 16th century, with a 16th-century cross wing and alterations from the late 18th century. The building is timber framed, with brick under-building in the cross wing and brick infill above, along with 18th-century brick cladding on the left side. The roofs are plain tiled and hipped over the cross wing. The plan is T-shaped, featuring a three-bay range on the left and a two-bay cross wing on the right. The structure has two storeys, with an end stack on the left and a large inserted stack to the right of the centre, at the junction with the wing.
On the first floor to the left, there are three 20th-century casement windows, while the ground floor has two windows with cambered heads. Each floor of the end of the wing on the right has a three-light window. There is a half-glazed door in the centre left, flanked by lights, under an open gabled porch (for No. 2). Additionally, there is a further half-glazed door under a pentice hood on the right-hand return front (for No. 1).
