Description

Old Boodles is a house dating from the late 16th and 17th centuries, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is timber framed and originally underbuilt in whitewashed brick, with whitewashed brick infill to the frame above, and whitewashed brick cladding on the right-hand wing. The roofs are plain tiled, stepping up to the right. The house is two storeys high, with an end stack to the left. Curved braces are exposed on the first floor at the ends. There are two casement windows to the first floor and two windows below. One window on the right-hand range has a cambered head on the first floor, and there is a four-light window on the ground floor beneath a wooden lintel. A half-glazed door is located to the left of centre, and a 20th-century door sits in the re-entrant angle of the two ranges. The return front on the right has a plinth and a plat band over the ground floor, with two first-floor windows.
