Description
Pillar Box Cottage is a house that dates back to the 16th century, with a 17th-century extension on the left. It features a timber-framed structure that is exposed, with brick infill, and has a plain tiled roof that is half hipped at the right end. The building has a T-shaped plan, with a lower cross wing to the left. It stands two storeys high and has bracing on the first floor, although the central area is obscured by the cross wing. There is a rear ridge stack located to the left of the centre and an end stack on the right.
On the first floor, there is one leaded casement window in the gable and another in a smaller gable that was formerly a stair-vice. To the right, there are two first floor windows, with two additional windows below them on the ground floor. The cross wing has one ground floor window and a half-glazed door on its left side. A hipped roof porch connects the cross wing and the main range, which features another door.
