Description

Brownlow Cottage, now part shop, is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century, with extensions added to the ends and rear in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber framed and clad in whitewashed render, with roughcast on the left side and the frame exposed on the left end. The building has a plain-tiled half-hipped roof and stands two storeys high, featuring three framed bays. There is a large ridge stack positioned to the right of centre and an end stack on the left. The first floor has three 19th-century three-light casement windows, while the ground floor has one casement window on the left. To the right and centre, there is a single-storey projecting shop front with a pentice roof and a half-glazed door in the centre. Additionally, there is a pentice extension on the left end.
