Description

Cuckoo Cottage is a possible hall house dating to the mid-16th century, which was refaced in the 18th century and restored in the 20th century. It is timber framed, with the frame exposed on the right-hand side and red brick infill. The centre and left-hand side feature brown and blue brick cladding. The roof is tiled, hipped, with end gablets. The building is two storeys high, featuring multiple corbelled stacks rebuilt in the centre. Two framed bays are exposed on the right with curved end bracing on the first floor. There are four 20th-century windows to both the first and ground floors. A six-panel door is located to the left of the stack, set within a moulded wooden surround beneath a flat hood with a cambered top and pseudo triglyph decoration to the edge. The timber frame is also exposed on the left-hand return front.
