Description

Hawthorne Cottage is a late 16th-century cottage with 19th-century extensions at both ends and to the rear. It is timber framed, constructed with thin timbers and infill of whitewashed brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The cottage has two storeys and three framed bays, exhibiting exposed diagonal bracing. A ridge stack is located to the right of the centre, and another is situated at the junction with the wing. There are three casement windows on the first floor in the centre of the cottage, with a single window on each end of the extensions, on both the ground and first floors. A partly glazed door is positioned to the right of the centre. Gabled garages are set back to the right, and a pentice extension projects from the rear left.
