Description
The Cottage is a cottage built in the late 16th century, which has been extended and restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is exposed on the right-hand return front, with brick infilling and a brick and rubblestone underbuild on the ground floor. The first floor is tile hung across the front, and the cottage has plain tiled roofs that are half hipped to the right and hipped to the left.
The building is two storeys tall, with end stacks on the left and a valley stack at the rear right, along with additional stacks at the rear. On the first floor, there are four gabled through-eaves dormers, while the ground floor has four leaded casements, including an angle bay window in the centre. A glazed door is located to the left of centre. There is a parallel range at the rear right with an angle bay at the end and leaded windows. On the left-hand return front, there is another door to the left in a lower extension.
