Description
Old House is a cottage dating from the late 16th century, with extensions added to the south and east in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame, with one bay exposed, while the rest is infilled with brick and render. The left side is weather boarded, and there is a red and brown brick extension. The roofs are hipped and covered with plain tiles.
The entrance range is two storeys high, with an offset front stack to the right and an end stack to the left. The hip end of the old range is set back to the left. On the first floor, there are two diamond-pane leaded casement windows, and to the left, there is a part-glazed door. Each floor on the left side of the old range has one diamond-pane casement window.
The left-hand return front has three bays, with the roof stepping down to the left. There are two framed bays with a stack at the junction of the extension, and tension bracing is visible in the centre of the first floor. Three leaded windows are present on the first floor, and there is a buttress at the centre of the ground floor with a window to the left. Additionally, there is a further wing at the rear of this range, which runs parallel to the front.
